Frequently asked questions
Plain answers about prices, timing, what we take and how gas and refrigerant work.
Pricing and booking
How much does it cost?
We do not publish a price list, because it depends on the appliance, the location and the path out. Quotes are free.
Can you come today?
Ask when you call. It depends on the schedule.
What hours do you work?
7 AM to 7 PM, every day.
Do I have to be home?
Someone needs to be there to let the crew in and show them what goes.
What we take
Which appliances do you remove?
Refrigerators and freezers, washers, dryers, stoves and ranges, dishwashers and water heaters. See all services.
Does it need to be empty?
Yes. Food, laundry, dishes and water all need to be out.
Do you take working appliances?
Yes. A working one may be worth more elsewhere, though. PNM has a fridge program and the ReStore takes resaleable items.
Gas, power and refrigerant
Do you disconnect gas?
Tell us it is gas when you call. New Mexico Gas Company says this belongs to a qualified technician, and our guide explains who to hire.
Do I need to remove the Freon?
No, leave it alone. Our fridge guide explains why.
Where does it go?
To the proper location for that item. Ask us about yours when you book.
Free options
Is there free appliance removal in Albuquerque?
Yes, for some jobs. City Solid Waste residential customers get free large item pickup at the curb. Inside the house, you are on your own.
Will the convenience center take it?
City centers take appliances with limits and fees, and Don Reservoir takes no refrigerators (City).
